Kid Who Reads: Maya Papaya

Maya Papaya by Hunter T. Castle
paperback
Published: September 2012 by White Sun Press
Source: Author
Read October 2012
GoodreadsIndieBoundAmazon

Maya Papaya is about a girl with a monkey tail and how she goes to India and finds other kids like her and how she saves them.

My favorite part was when they find the place with all the animal children.

I did not like the man that put Mr. Norbert in jail.

The cover is great and I love the pictures above Maya's name.

Maya Papaya is exciting and fun. Anyone would love it. It is an enjoyable book. I give it a BIG 5.

New Blog! New Kid's Books!

Just now starting up this blog, to write about monkeys, India...and of course writing and kid's books. Might be a bit of a slow start while I get my act together, but I hope to have some new postings up here soon, including more links to my two new children's books coming out ~

Maya Papaya ~

Maya Papaya is an 11-year-old girl with a couple of problems. Not only does she have a name like a deranged fruit salad and a four-foot tail with a mind of its own...but her tail is a big secret, so she has to wear these itchy tail pants and can't have sleepovers or go swimming with the other kids. She still lives a fairly normal life with her guardian, Mr. Norbert...until Mr. Norbert's computer tells her she's not really a little girl at all, but something it calls a 'humanimal.' Before Maya can determine what that means, a knock on the door puts events in motion that send Maya all the way across the world, without even Mr. Norbert to protect her. After a long voyage to India, Maya discovers the truth about where she's from, and realizes that she's not the only child who's been created with a few extra abilities...

and Jack Dervish, Super Spy ~

Jack Dervish was just four-years-old when the nasty incident took place at 74 Eaton Place and his super-spy parents vanished. Now Jack is twelve, and after years of living in his parents' super-spy lair, training in every manner of super-spy skills, he's decided it's time to attend school. After all, how can he foil the international crime syndicate and fight evil if he can't pass as a normal, youngish Londoner? Unfortunately, Jack quickly catches the attention of the Homeland Security Office...along with the most dangerous bullies at St. John's Preparatory School. His only hope lies in his new friends, Isobel, William and Squid, and the super-spy skills he's never had the opportunity to test, at least not against actual people. When the evil mastermind following him ends up being linked to the disappearance of Jack's parents, Jack is determined to find out what the man knows, no matter what it takes.
